Job Description
Summary:
Coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of plant by performing the following duties personally or through other maintenance personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned as needed.)
Reviews job orders to determine work priorities. Facilitates preparation of equipment and materials for repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.

Working through the Maintenance Leads, directs daily operations and assignment of Maintenance Department Employees. Performs evaluation of Maintenance Personnel. Issues discipline as required.
?Coordinates activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.
? Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
? Supports preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.
? Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
? Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
? Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
? Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with design engineers.
? Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for maintenance operations
? Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedure
? Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.

Education and/or Experience

1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; three to five years' related experience in plant maintenance organization (either engineer or supervisor) supporting fabrication and assembly equipment.
2. Working knowledge of control systems, electrical maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
3. Knowledge of physical plant systems


PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

1. Regular attendance, active participation on cross functional teams, and compliance with all Walker Tenneco policies and procedures is required.
2. Performance measurements will be based on equipment and plant system uptime, response time on unscheduled projects, successful startup of rebuilds and repairs, and achievements of preventative and predictive maintenance schedules.

Ability to diagnosis, program, and repair industrial equipment
Ability to expedite parts and other required items
Job Location Litchfield, Michigan, United StatesEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
